Homeowners are being urged to open up their houses to motorsport visitors as demand increases.

Registration for Homestay, which is operated by MiQuando, is open until April 30th.

Director Nigel Jones says: “It’s shaping up to be a very busy year for Homestay with over twice the website activity compared to this time last year and we have a growing list of visitors seeking accommodation, especially single and twin rooms.

“If anyone has a spare room and wants to earn some tax-free income they should consider registering for Homestay.”

During the TT period hosts can earn up to ?1,800 in tax free income.

Registration is compulsory – it is illegal to host paying visitors without being registered by MiQuando.

The Department for Enterprise has confirmed that people promoting their properties via AirBnB or social media platforms must ensure they are registered too.
