Chief Constable in hot water in the name of charity

by isleofman.com 12th February 2019

The Island’s Chief Constable will find himself in hot water next month – in the name of charity.

The Police Youth Scheme will hold a ’24 Hours in Police Custody’ event on March 1st.

Prominent members of the Manx community will be arrested at their place of work before being transported to the Old Police Station on Lord Street.

In the evening members of the Police Youth Scheme will be detained in the cells there.

Sophie Macdonald is one of those taking part - she says: "From this event we hope to raise awareness for the charity Housing Matters and helping those who are in need.

"We would also like to show that the Police Youth Scheme want to be involved in the community and we hope to continue to support the community over the next two years."
