Will changing the entry requirements for the Manx civil service affect quality of work?

That’s the question Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse will raise in the House of Keys next week.

He’ll ask Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas for clarity.

From today people applying for government jobs do not have to have GCSE qualifications – previously this was an essential requirement, it is now a desirable.

Government claims this is a ‘really positive and exciting change’ and says it should allow more people to be considered for roles.
