High demand for family homes in the south

by isleofman.com 6th March 2015

Local property developer Hartford Homes has released two new house designs at its Cronk Cullyn development in Colby following the sale of all its four-bed homes.

With all the original four-bed properties now reserved, the family-run business has unveiled plans for two new home types to meet market demand.

Hartford Homes director James Greenhalgh explained that within only a few days of bringing the new Raleigh and Berkley homes to market, two had already been reserved. He said: “The popularity of our detached and terraced properties at Cronk Cullyn has been unprecedented and it just goes to show that there is a strong desire for quality new-build family homes in the south of the island.”

“As a company, we aim to listen to and learn from the market and meet its requirements, from location and affordability to specification and after-sales care. I believe that the off plan success at Cronk Cullyn is down to the design, specification and accurate pricing being beyond anything else currently on offer in the market place.”

The development of 62 properties has been designed for all generations, catering for young families, professional couples and those enjoying retirement. It includes one and two bed bungalows, three bed terraces, as well as four and five bed executive detached homes.

All of the homes have been designed to be stylish and contemporary. They feature open plan layouts, stunning bathrooms which include under floor heating, luxury fitted kitchens and innovative design features, including bi-fold doors to pull out under stairs storage. Floor finishes and front and rear garden landscaping is included as standard.

James went on to say “We believe that Cronk Cullyn will be an ideal place for a family, with the best of town and country in one location. There are great schools nearby, a village green and equipped play area at the heart of the development and a local convenience store and village pub just meters away, directly accessed from a new footpath link Hartford is building. It has proven convenient and attractive to all ages.”

Construction work on the site began in the autumn, with the infrastructure including off-site drainage and services, as well as on site drains, roads and services now nearing completion.

James said: “At the same time, we have laid the first fifteen foundations and expect the first roof to be on in the next few weeks. We are continuing at a fast pace over the winter to complete the build out as soon as we can.”

It is expected that the first residents will be able to move in during this summer, with the entire site due for completion next year.

James added: “We would like to thank the residents of Colby for bearing with us during the works. There is always a degree of disruption which we try and mitigate with wheel washing, regular road sweeping and dialogue with our neighbours.”
