Equiom Group, the leading Trust and Corporate Services Provider with offices in Jersey, Malta and the Isle of Man, has announced two senior appointments to its Jersey business.

Heather Bestwick joins the company as a Non-Executive Director and Hiren Mistry has been appointed as Legal Counsel.

The appointments come at a pivotal time for the Group which has seen significant expansion over the past two years, including the opening of the Jersey business, which will celebrate its second anniversary in September.

Heather was previously Deputy CEO and Technical Director of Jersey Finance, where she led the delivery of Jersey Finance's technical services, enabling effective consultation and communication between Jersey's Finance Industry, Government and the Financial Services Commission on all legislative and regulatory matters that affect the Industry.

Heather commented: “Equiom is an ambitious and forward thinking organisation, and joining the board of the Jersey office at this stage of its evolution is tremendously exciting; I am looking forward to working with the executive team to build on the success of the business locally”.

Hiren previously held senior associate positions in a number of Jersey law firms, where he gained a wealth of experience in Jersey Commercial, Trust Litigation and Asset Tracing cases. He has authored several published legal articles and opinions and held speaker slots at a number of key events in Jersey.  As Equiom’s Legal Counsel, he will review new and existing client structures to identify potential for offering added value and provide legal support and advice to the client teams in Jersey. He will also support the Group Legal Director with strategic decisions related to the broad range of products and services offered across the Group.

Hiren commented: “I am delighted to be joining Equiom at such an exciting time in its history.  I look forward to bringing my private practice legal experience to Equiom and working closely with the team both locally in Jersey and globally, to strengthen the company’s position within the market and to assist with future growth plans.  I am ready to take on the challenges that this role will bring”.

Sheila Dean, Group Managing Director added: “Both Heather and Hiren are very well respected within the Jersey business community and they bring with them a wealth of experience. They are invaluable additions to the senior team at Equiom and I’m delighted to welcome them to the Group”.
