Road Safety Campaign launched ahead of Festival of Motorcycling

by isleofman.com 12th August 2014
With the start of the Festival of Motorcycling just days away, the latest road safety campign has been launched.

The Department of Infrastructure and Police are working together, continuing the themes highlighted during this year's TT.

The slogan "Don't bin it. For Everyone's sake slow down" is a play on the phrase used by bikers to refer to crashing.

Campaign posters show an image of a motorbike in a wheelie bin and they will displayed at key locations around the Island.

With several thousand visitors expected on the Island, unmarked police cars and bikes will be on patrol, and the message is that anyone caught breaking the law will be dealt with appopriately.

The Mountain Road remains two-way during the festival, so people are encouraged to get to vantage points early to avoid a last-minute rush before roads close.Clip 1
