Mountain Road re-opens

The Mountain Road has re-opened this lunchtime.

It had initially been closed between Ramsey Hairpin and the Bungalow due to heavy rain.

The section of road between Ballig Bridge and Cronk-y-Voddy Crossroads has also opened.

Kirk Michael residents wishing to travel south or to Douglas are advised to use the Peel coast road via Peel.

Sulby Claddagh, from its junctions with the Sulby Glen Rd and Ginger Hall, has been shut until 9am on New Year's Eve.

The scheduled 8.45am sailing from Douglas to Heysham departed at 10am.

This afternoon’s 2.15pm return has been delayed as a result until 3.30pm.

Passengers are asked to check-in by 2pm.
