42nd Street is known as the ultimate Broadway musical and Taylorian Productions are delighted to bring this 'taptastic' iconic show to the Gaiety stage this August.
One of show business's most beloved tales, the story of a talented young performer with stars in her eyes, Peggy Sawyer, who gets her big break on Broadway in a show of renowned director Julian Marsh.
With a classic score of musical theatre standards including "We're in the Money", "Lullaby of Broadway", "42nd Street" and "About a Quarter to Nine", this heart-warming musical suitable for all the family has exceptional tap and dance routines and classic comedy.
Based on the 1932 novel by Bradford Ropes, this musical comedy first took Broadway by storm in 1980 where it won the Tony Awards for Best Musical and ran for almost 3,500 performances. It opened in the West End at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1984, and won the Olivier for Best Musical.
