Tholt-y-Will

Tholt-y-Will plantation in the Isle of Man was originally planted in 1939

Tholt-y-Will is a large varied plantation mainly on south and east facing steep slopes.  It was planted in 1939, 1961 and 1984 with mixed conifers.  The section adjacent to Black Mountain was felled and restocked in 1989.  Its area covers 100 hectares and it has potential for landscaping improvements along its watercourses.

There are also 49 hectares of afforestation on the eastern boundary of Tholt-y-Will Glen, on what was Tholt-y-Will Farm, which was planted in 1994 with Sitka Spruce, Hybrid Larch and Corsican Pine.

A new forest road was constructed giving good access to this section.
