Description

Colden plantation is on the west of the Baldwin reservoir in the Isle of Man

 

Colden is on the west of Baldwin Reservoir.  It stands 1599 feet (487m) high.

 

It was planted between 1957 and 1961, a total of 71 hectares although 6 hectares, on the highest section of land, is classed as unplantable.  Its roading system is inadequate at present.  Its two main species of tree are Sitka Spruce and Japanese Larch.
